Making our way home

We were trying to reach my friend's house in Lucknow. While we were only less than a km away and there was a straight narrow road leading to his house, he suggested that the road construction was little unreliable, and we should go around it for a longer, but cleaner route. As we went around and made an approach from the other side, the road was indeed much better resembling a modern day Lucknawi version of the cobbled streets in Prague. We were happily chugging along, before we almost ran over the cow! Now this was a precarious situation, with the cow in the middle and just barely leaving enough space between itself and the sewage pipe for our Hyundai Santro to get through. I focused on the left in attempting to avoid the sewage, he on the right on the cow’s stretched leg, and inch by inch, we crossed over. The cow didn’t take any notice, nor did the sewage burst - we knew this since the cow didn’t wallow and the smells didn’t worsen. Behold, we were at his house! Just another regular trip home in the Amausi area of Lucknow.
